Access to essential healthcare services remains deeply unequal, with persistent disparities disproportionately affecting marginalized populations. These inequities are driven by intersecting factors—including social, economic, geographic, and institutional barriers—that continue to challenge the realization of health equity.
This paper examines equity-oriented public health strategies designed to reduce these disparities and promote more just healthcare systems. The central aim is to identify actionable frameworks and practices that embed equity into the planning, delivery, and evaluation of public health interventions.
Drawing on policy analysis, community-centered models, and health system reform efforts, the paper highlights how structural change can address the root causes of exclusion and marginalization in healthcare access. Special attention is given to interventions that have demonstrated effectiveness in reaching historically underserved groups. Key findings underscore the importance of redistributive resource allocation, participatory service design, and targeted outreach mechanisms that respond to local needs. These strategies are most successful when integrated into broader institutional reforms and guided by metrics that reflect equity outcomes.
This paper offers a set of evidence-informed recommendations for public health practitioners, decision-makers, and stakeholders. By centering equity in public health policy and practice, the path toward reducing health disparities and achieving systemic health justice becomes more attainable.
